The forest had fallen into a deathly silence, save for the sound of a single pair of boots crushing the damp earth. Bodies of Afzal’s men lay strewn like discarded carcasses, groaning or unconscious—defeated. And at the center of it all stood the stranger in black, brushing dust off gloved hands with a quiet indifference that could unnerve even the bravest.

But then, a sharp, deranged laugh slithered into the air—high-pitched and cracked with madness.
